Planners have a unique, strategic overview of their place: they ensure that residents and businesses can access public services and infrastructure by co-ordinating investment in health, education, transport and the local economy. However, planner’s ability to bring communities together and underpin public services depends on sufficient funding, coherent policy and support at all levels of government.
