Booking frequently asked questions

Yes – look out for our early bird specials when programmes are launched and for individual events throughout the year.  

No, it is a first come, first serve system. To secure your place, you will need to pay online or request an invoice (for bookings over £500).  

A member can book one ticket for themselves and if the event is open to non-members they can also add as many non member tickets as they require (subject to availability) to the booking of that event. A non-member can also book as many non-member tickets as they like, but they cannot book on behalf of a member as members must login directly to the site and can only book for themselves. You will need to have your colleague's details when you are making the booking. Joining instructions will be sent out later.  

No. Multiple bookings can only be made on one event at a time. To make additional bookings, simply return to the events calendar and repeat the process for any other events you wish to book places on. 

Once you have completed the online booking process and entered your payment details via SagePay, a receipt will be emailed to you confirming your payment has been successful, along with a booking confirmation.

Delegates will also receive an email with joining instructions closer to the time of the event. If you have not received an email please ask the person who made the booking for you, check your junk mail and then contact the relevant RTPI events organiser (see below) or the RTPI Training team if an online masterclass training@rtpi.org.uk

When an event is marked as 'Fully Booked' you can contact your RTPI events organiser and request to be put onto the event's waiting list.  If a place becomes available you will be contacted and given the option to book if you still wish to. Please note it is possible that an event may only be fully booked  in one particular price category,  and we may be able to redistribute some tickets from the other categories. 

A valid email address is required in order for us to reconfirm the booking online.  If you do not have an email address, please contact us.

Yes, the online booking system is the only way to book and pay for individual places. 

A membership number is no longer required to login to the website or to book an event. Login and booking is now done by using your email address and password. 

Yes. If an event is open to non-members, there will be a non-member category for bookings.

In order for the RTPI to accept payment by credit and debit cards online, the payments must go through a payment portal. SagePay has been chosen as our provider. You will be automatically redirected to SagePay’s site to complete your payment.

No - SagePay is a payment portal and does not require users to have accounts. 

Once you have registered for an event using our online booking system, a receipt will be emailed to you confirming your payment and place. The receipt will be sent to the email address you provided at the time of your booking. If you are the booker but are not attending the event, then please fill in the delegate's details and we will send then the joining instructions for the event.  

An invoice may be requested at the payment stage. Please note that RTPI Members must log in to access the member rate. They may then request an organisational invoice to be issued. If a purchase order is required, please request this prior to making your booking as this number can then be included in your invoice request.

Once a booking has been made, it is necessary to contact your RTPI events organiser to cancel your place. Standard terms and conditions apply at the time of booking.

If we have to cancel an event, we will notify the delegate and refund the person who made the booking.

Yes. You will need to notify your RTPI events organiser of this change.  There may be an additional charge if the replacement delegate is not eligible for the place booked e.g. if a non-member is attending in place of an RTPI member.

If you are unable to attend an event you have booked and paid for and would like to transfer to another event, please contact your RTPI events organiser using the email provided on the event web page.
