RTPI seeks consultancy bids for climate action work

The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is inviting consultancies to tender to undertake an assessment of the Institute’s climate impact.

The successful consultancy will also produce an ‘action plan’, outlining ways the RTPI can reduce its carbon footprint.

The assessment and action plan are among a range of measures related to climate change which the RTPI committed to in its Corporate Strategy 2020-2030, launched earlier this year.

RTPI Chief Executive Victoria Hills (pictured) said: “The urgent need to address the climate crisis underpins all aspects of our corporate strategy - an assessment of our current climate impact and a route map for how we can improve are vital to reduce and mitigate the impact of our business operations and practices.

“The assessment will be wide-ranging and include an overview of our business processes and the impact that they have.

“Through the development of the action plan, informed by the Climate Impact Assessment, there will be an opportunity for the RTPI to align future actions and activities to reduce our climate impact. The action plan will help cement the RTPI’s position as a leading advocate for sustainable place-making through a clear commitment to tackling climate change.”

Consultancies should submit their tenders before 5pm on 1 May 2020.
