RTPI announces second round of mentoring programme

The RTPI is delighted to announce the second year of its mentoring pilot NURTURE. The programme, designed to support the professional development of chartered RTPI members, will launch in mid-February 2023 with a host of new mentors and mentees.

NURTURE, a part of the RTPI’s Corporate Strategy 2020-2030, is designed to provide structured, professional mentoring for RTPI’s members at a ‘mid-career’ point and enabling them to make their next career step.

The first round of NURTURE, which finished in March this year, proved successful for both mentors and mentees, with mentees achieving professional objectives as well as finding senior roles within the industry following their mentorship.

86% of mentees who answered an anonymous survey reported feeling prepared for broader professional responsibilities following the end of the programme, while 82% of mentors stated they felt they benefitted from being a mentor.

RTPI Head of Membership, Martine Koch, said, “I am delighted that we are working with Women in Transport again to launch the second programme of NURTURE. The mentoring scheme is one of our commitments to support our members in their careers and with their professional development.”

NURTURE will include training for both mentees and mentors and a commitment to six mentoring sessions over the course of nine months.

If you want to take part in this opportunity for career development, please register your interest here to be notified when the next round of NURTURE is launched.
