This is the RTPI's response to the 2019 Public Accounts Committee inquiry on planning and the broken housing market, which in turn was partially a response to the National Audit Office report Planning for New Homes.
The RTPI's response provides evidence on the need for regional planning structures, better and more transparent data on land, sufficient local authority resourcing, the ability of local authorities to secure housing delivery, and infrastructure funding.
