- 7 CPD hours
Masterclass aim:
City, town and local centres are the ‘heart’ of our communities. They perform a critical social and environmental, as well as economic role. High street regeneration has significant local and national benefit and urban growth needs infrastructure. Town centre ‘vitality and viability’ is a national policy objective.
This Masterclass will help planners to develop a deeper understanding of this topic and increase their confidence to tackle challenges as they work collaboratively with other professionals in the built environment. This training content is designed to build on your existing planning knowledge, therefore it is recommended for experienced planners.
Learning objectives:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the complex and inter-related topics that influence our high streets
- Explore key economic and physical, social and organisational aspects relevant to planning (visioning and land use change, public realm and governance)
- Review practical planning, regeneration and organisational tools for high street intervention with a keen eye on delivery, concluding with a ‘bigger picture’ look to the future of our high streets
