Our National Executive Committees bring the RTPI to life in your area. They connect you to the wider RTPI community through local expertise and dedicated support.

How we're set up

Each RTPI Nation (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland) has its own Executive Committee.

Their role is to:

  • build and strengthen the Institute's relations in that nation on planning issues (other than education and membership) with central and local government, other professional bodies pressure groups or the general public
  • implement and monitor within that nation policies for the development of planning thought
  • work closely with the National Director to deliver on shared priorities and goals
  • supervise and sustain Chapters where appropriate
  • share insights and updates with the Board of Trustees so they can make well-informed decisions
  • provide practical support to members in their professional practices

Thinking of joining a committee?

We're looking for fresh perspectives and new energy.   Every year, we welcome new committee members through elections.

Curious about what's involved? We're hosting friendly drop-in sessions where you can chat with current members before nominations open in September.

We're a friendly group and newcomers are always welcome. We meet at various locations and offer hybrid options for those who can't travel.
