Helen Fadipe awarded MBE in New Year Honours List

Helen Fadipe has been awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2024 New Year Honours list. The award recognises Fadipe’s role as Founder and Chair BAME Planners Network, as well as her services to planning.

The honours system recognises people who have made achievements in public life or committed themselves to serving and helping the UK.

Fadipe, who will be Vice President of the RTPI in 2024, and President of the RTPI in 2025, is Managing Director of planning consultancy firm FPP Associates Ltd and founder of BAME Planners Network, which promotes diversity and inclusion in the planning profession.

Helen Fadipe, Vice President of the RTPI for 2024 said, “The honour bestowed upon me in the New Year’s list was a surprise and a delight. To be recognised for my contribution to the profession is humbling as I could not have done it without the support and encouragement of other planners and the Institute.

"I am also inspired as there is definitely more to be done to ensure that the planning profession is not only reflective of the society it serves but also inclusive in practice.”
