For the first time since 2012, the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) has announced a review of its special interest networks to understand how they can better support their members’ needs.
The networks, which currently cover independent consultants (ICN), planning enforcement (NAPE), transport planning (TPN) and urban design (UDN), encourage informed discussion and debate, and share good practice and information, between members and with the Institute on specific topics and professional issues.
However, the Institute believes there is untapped expertise and potential for these networks. With a renewed focus on clear objectives and engagement strategies, these networks could become a powerful force for positive change in the profession and across the system.
To ensure these networks are reaching their full potential, the Institute will conduct a series of consultations with its members. These surveys ensure the needs and opinions of RTPI members are heard and addressed before implementing any changes.
The Institute is encouraging all members, whether you belong to a network or not, to have their say through the online survey.
