International Group

The informal RTPI Scotland International Group was established in 2019. Its membership is drawn from across Scotland’s planning spectrum and currently includes planners in private practice, public sector, academia, third sector and across young planner networks. All have an interest in planning internationally and some have/currently work on international planning projects. We are always open to new members at all stages of their careers, including non-planners.

Its purpose/remit is neatly summarised in the matrix below, and includes:

  • World Town Planning Day Event at Dundee University 2019
  • ‘Delivery More Homes and Better Places – Learning from Europe’ seminar with the Scottish Land Commission using examples from the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland (2021)
  • ‘One Minute to Midnight – How can Cities adapt to Climate Change?’ – a post COP26 seminar with speakers from Mexico City and Bangladesh (2021)
