A rare and exclusive opportunity for planners to see how our traffic is managed around the clock
About the tour
Located in York House in Leicester city centre, the Area Traffic Control Centre is responsible for managing traffic flows across the city, Leicestershire and Rutland. This is undertaken through CCTV, traffic signals and other technology and is not usually open to the public.
The tour of the control centre will include the central control room as well as where the local radio traffic reports are broadcast from. You may also get to hear a thing or two from the reporters. Martin Hayes of the Traffic Control Centre will be our guide for the afternoon.
We will start in Nottingham City Centre for 2pm, where our sponsors have kindly arranged a bus to the venue. Attendees will be emailed a joining location before the event. The tour should start at 3.30pm for 2 hours before returning by bus. Should you wish to meet at the venue, please arrive at 3.15pm at the location below where a member of our committee and our sponsor will be there to meet you.
Places strictly limited on a first come, first served basis.
