Event Description

The High Street is an important and ever changing part of our lives. For planning professionals this creates both challenges and opportunities. High street regeneration has significant local and national benefit and urban growth needs infrastructure.

This session will explore practical lessons, key measures, and frameworks that can help places respond to current high street challenges. Drawing on real examples from across England, Cathy will provide a grounded, evidence-based view of what works, and what doesn't, to support vibrant, resilient places.

Confirmed speakers include 

  • Prof Cathy Parker MBE, one of the UK’s leading experts on town centres and place management, as she shares key insights from the High Street Task Force. 
  • A speaker from Beauclair Data, BD make insights from retail transaction data accessible and affordable for BIDs, local authorities & charities. BD tracks the monthly retail performance of 62 of the largest town and city centres. In this session we will be talking about the latest GB insights, and how they can be applied to enhance your town centre performance.
  • Alyn Nicholls, Independent Planning Consultant, What should planners consider for the post-pandemic high streets?
