Sister (formerly known as ID Manchester) is a £1.7 billion regeneration project for a new innovation district in Manchester, currently being delivered by a joint venture between Bruntwood SciTech and University of Manchester.
Sister is set across over 4 million sqft, and will bring life to the former UMIST campus in central Manchester with new offices, homes, leisure, community and green spaces. It will deliver:
- Over 2 million sqft of workspace
- More than 10,000 new jobs
- Over 1,500 new homes
- New nature led public spaces
The Sister area is subject to a Strategic Regeneration Framework, endorsed by Manchester City Council in 2023. The SRF sets out the vision, ambitions and key pillars for the development of Manchester new innovation district.
The walking tour will begin at the Renold building, with its refurbishment completed in late 2024. The tour will also include an overview of the ambitions and design for Plot C, a flagship commercial office development, representing the first major new build phase of the Masterplan.
The tour will be led by the project team, including Bruntwood SciTech and Deloitte. During the tour, attendees will explore key areas of the Sister development, including the project's broader vision to contribute to the local economy and community. The walking tour will also provide an opportunity for discussions, asking questions, whilst networking with peers.
Please Note:
- Dress Code: Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate attire for walking.
- PPE is not required.
- Refreshments will be provided.
