Event Description

Join the RTPI Young Planners for an evening CPD event on what planners need to know about the intersection of design, heritage and planning, led by both architects and heritage consultants.

The session will kindly be hosted by Donald Insall Associates, a leading architectural and heritage consultancy with over 65 years of pioneering creative approaches to heritage.

The event will be held at their offices on Wednesday 25 June. Registration opens at 5:00pm, followed by a presentation and Q&A from 5:30 to 7:00pm. The evening will conclude with networking drinks at a nearby pub.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will gain a practical understanding of how heritage can act both as a constraint and a catalyst in planning and the wider development process. Through real-world case studies and expert insight, attendees will explore strategies for integrating heritage assets into sustainable development, learn how to navigate the tensions between preservation and innovation, and build confidence in engaging with heritage-led schemes in their own work.
