Event Description
In this webinar we will explore residential uses and the complexities of control. The session will particularly consider the nature of the Use Classes Order and how residential use types are managed, including Houses in Multiple Occupation, Short Term Lets, and Primary Residences. With England preparing for the potential introduction of a new C5 STL use class, and mindful holiday homes, second homes, student accommodation, sub-divisions, and ‘AirBnB’ type property use control challenges, this session will consider the tools (e.g. Article 4 Directions) and approaches to managing activity types and densities. In addition to sharing experiences in two authorities in South West England, the session will also provide a focus on lessons from Wales, where a different Use Class Order is already in operation for residential uses.
