RTPI North East brings this webinar to you as part of the RTPI Online event series.
Transport Planning policy and legislation is in a state of flux but what is clear is that Local Transport Authorities are driving towards refreshed Local Transport Plans that paint the way towards a sustainable future.
Learning outcomes

Andrew will provide a view from the RTPI and their response when it comes to transport. As well as covering the Combined Authority plans regarding transport in particular focusing on the Maylor's Transport Plan. - Joanne Roberts, Area Manager - North East at Waterman Aspen (CIHT - Regional Chair)
Joanne will give the CIHT view on Government reform to transport policy and some of the challenges of advancing development propositions which it comes to integrated transport opportunities. - Additional speakers coming soon

Andrew Dorrian
Senior Transport Planner at North East Combined Authority and RTPI NE Honorary Secretary & Treasurer
A chartered Town Planner and member of the Transport Planning Society Andrew is a Senior Transport Planner at NE Combined Authority. He works in Transport and Infrastructure planning responsible for the development and delivery of the North East’s transport pipeline and transport plan. Andrew prepares major funding bids develops regional policy and strategy and project manages the delivery of capital and revenue funding in the region. Andrew works closely with local authority, national and subnational partners in linking transport planning wider spatial planning outcomes.
Prior to joining the Transport North East, Andrew spend six years at Transport for London working in development management across South London. He also gained experience in TfL’s Commercial Development team. Whilst in London Andrew was Chair of the RTPI region in 2016 and was Honorary Secretary prior to that. He is now the Honorary Secretary and Treasurer for RTPI North East and is a Planning Aid England volunteer, part of a team providing advice through PAE’s advice line service.

Joanne is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and has over 25 years’ experience in the industry. She has worked delivering infrastructure projects as well as promoting sustainable travel and road safety and worked in delivering highway development control advice on planning applications. Joanne is the current CIHT Regional Chair for North East and Cumbria and Regional Representative on CIHT Council.
