This event will look at the implications and opportunities of the Government Energy Strategy in context of the West Midlands. Raising the importance of planning and place-based delivery to promote innovative community energy solutions towards achieving wider national/international targets for reducing carbon emissions.

Learning outcomes:

  • A chance to review and share lessons learnt, challenges experienced and future opportunities for understanding how planning plays a role in helping to achieve the UK’s net zero energy ambitions.
  • How planning help to deliver solutions to current energy challenges
  • How we look to the planning industry to help to adapt and lead this transition
