This year’s RTPI North East Bike ride will be held on Friday 17 May and will take a new and very scenic route through County Durham and North Yorkshire. As in previous years, all RTPI members are welcome to take part (free of charge); and friends and colleagues from other related professions are also welcome to join us. We are keen to ensure the Bike Ride is an inclusive event which can be enjoyed by riders of all levels so we are again offering three different routes this year:

Route A – Circular route from Sedgefield Cricket Club, Sedgefield – c. 95 miles (all day) Will suit very experienced riders, with good fitness, who are comfortable cycling at 17-18 miles per hour.
Route B - Circular route from Sedgefield Cricket Club, Sedgefield - c. 70 miles (all day) This route will suit riders with a good level of fitness, who are comfortable cycling at 13-15 miles per hour.
Route C – Middleton One Row to Sedgefield Cricket Club, Sedgefield – c. 20 miles (afternoon only) For riders doing Route C, transport will be available from Newcastle Cycle Hub. Riders should arrive no later than 11:45 and the bus / trailer will depart at around 12:00. Transport will also be provided back from Sedgefield back to the Cycle Hub at the end of the ride.
At the end of the ride, refreshments will be available at Sedgefield Cricket Club.
All routes follow roads (generally quiet roads) – and road or hybrid bikes will be most suitable for this year's ride.

All riders will be required to complete an Registration and Disclaimer form confirming health conditions and emergency contact details, as well as signing a disclaimer. Email completed forms to Kim Walker.
