Join RTPI Dorset Young Planners us for an interesting tour around Wessex Water’s treatment plant in Holdenhurst, and listen to talks from experts about nutrient neutrality, environmental projects, sustainability, and upgrading work at Holdenhurst.

Please note that this event is open to all members and non-members so you do not need to be a Young Planner to join this event.

Water management has never been more important to spatial planners and developers as it is now.

Wessex Water supplies more than 282 million litres of water everyday to 1.4 million customers and 44,000 businesses. 75% of their water comes from deep underground in Dorset and Wiltshire, and the remainder comes from 12 surface water reservoirs, mainly in Somerset. Join us on the day to discover the process of water recycling and treating wastewater so it is safe to be released into local waterways, and find out how their upgrades by 2030 will unlock new housing development.

The day will kick off at 10am for a series of talks before heading out for a tour of the works. We will have the chance to view micro-organisms under the microscope and then a Q&A session before we head for some lunch with an opportunity for networking.

Speakers include:

  • Wessex Water
  • Jack Potter, Founder of Galingale and Co-founder of Wild-Capital
