Cycle parking should be an integral part of any development yet is often an afterthought, with facilities in new developments being poor designed and infrequently used. How can we as planning and transport professionals design to support cycling as an everyday activity? Should we stick rigidly to a fixed number of cycle stands per unit or is a more nuanced approach required? What makes a good cycle stand? Are two-tier stacker systems the solution to all our problems in constrained locations?

This webinar covers the types of cyclists and their needs but provides the wider context on how to convince politicians and businesses on the case for cycle investment as an economic multiplier. The session also covers best practices of designing cycle parking facilities, especially in large scale developments, and offers practical solutions how to create a space that is highly functional, secure, and accommodates a wide variety of users and bike types.
