City of York Council vacated the historic Guildhall complex, on York’s riverside, in April 2013, when it moved to its award winning new offices and customer centre at West Offices.  The project to agree a new use, and bring new life and purpose to the Guildhall took almost 10 years to deliver.  The Guildhall was refurbished and redeveloped, and now operates as thriving serviced office, business and events venue operated by University of York Science Park Ltd.  It boasts a River Water Source Heat Pump providing Green Energy and showcases the best conservation principles alongside stunning C21st design.

This event will provide an insight into the key project challenges from; agreeing the concept, establishing the business case, through securing the planning and listed building consents and delivering the project through the pandemic.  The visit will offer a 1hr presentation in the historic council chamber followed by a tour of the complex – led by -

David Warburton | Head of Regeneration, York City Council

Richard Stephenson | Senior Project Delivery Manager, York City Council

Tracy Kelly | Operations Manager Directorate of Technology, Estates & Facilities, York Science Park Ltd.
