Many RTPI members have experienced or witnessed discrimination in some shape or form along their professional journey. However, the RTPI is an organisation that strives to be open, welcoming and supportive of its membership and the wider planning profession.
This online event, which will be led by the RTPI’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Manager – Machel Bogues, aims to offer a timely reminder of the RTPI’s continued commitment to delivering a diverse workforce and outlining the support available to those who have been affected by discrimination.
By attending this event you will:
Understand what is meant by EDI – and how do these concepts relate/interact with each other i.e. what we mean by equity diversity and inclusion and how those concepts build on and inform each other.
Understand the legislative/legal framework (EQ Act)
Understand the difference between good practice and legal compliance e.g. the “row” between Holyrood and Westminster on gender identity
Understand what this means for RTPI – the CHANGE action plan and expectations on volunteers.
