Planning is a democratic process and is undoubtedly influenced by the political system in numerous ways, often for the best but sometimes for the worse. Elected officials often have involvement with key decisions and it is in the interests of all stakeholders to work together effectively to achieve the best outcome for the communities they serve. This session will provide expert guidance on how town planners can effectively and professionally engage with local councillors, parish council’s and community groups to come to a justified and fair planning outcome. The session will be delivered by communications specialists BECG who bring first hand insight into the dynamics of planning officer and member relations through Kevin Whitmore and Sean Fielding.
