All growth, whether large scale housing, or new road, rail, transport works and energy infrastructure, has to be fitted into our crowded island. How we eventually deal with these aspects of growth and development is central to a resilient and sustainable future. With the Government’s growth agenda, planners, particularly those in the North of England, will need to find ways of resolving many of these conflicts.
