RTPI North East brings this webinar to you as part of the RTPI Online event series.

As part of the RTPI Coastal week we are bringing you this webinar on Marine Planning.

In this webinar, we are delighted to be joined by Sidonie Kenward who will explain the role of the Marine Management Organisation and its approach to plan-making. Sidonie will discuss the marine plans in your area, the role of stakeholder engagement and how stakeholders use the plans in decision-making. Sidonie will identify similarities and differences between marine planning and terrestrial planning. She will conclude with some thoughts on the future for marine planning.

Sidonie is a Marine and Terrestrial Planner within the Marine Planning team at the Marine Management Organisation, working nationally Sidonie is based in Brighton. Sidonie is a RTPI member with a MSc in Town Planning (also a MA in Human Resource Management) and has a background in Minerals and Waste Planning having previously worked for a planning consultancy specialising in this area and has worked across LPAs. She has carried out research on the supply of soft sand in the South East of England. The main focus of Sidonie’s current role is on integrating marine and terrestrial planning, this involves her working closely with the Coastal Planners within the team on areas such as stakeholder engagement and implementing marine plans particularly with LPAs. Other aspects of her role include projects, monitoring, evidence and analysis. Sidonie is policy lead for infrastructure and marine aggregates, and policy buddy on dredging and disposal.
