This session looks to examine how best to ensure that places are designed to of the highest quality and are future proofed for residents. Each speaker will give a 10 minute outline of their perspective, to be followed by discussion and Q+A from delegates.

Andrew Griffin, Co-Founder, Urban-Agency - confirmed

Andrew is co­founder Urban Agency and previously was a partner at JDS architects, running the day to day operations in Copenhagen and Shanghai.. Andrew has also worked at PLOT, OMA and FKL Architects. Andrew has taught and lectured all over the world including the AA in London, UIC in Chicago, TONGJI University in Shanghai and the American University in Beirut and is currently a Tutor at the School of Architecture University of Limerick (SAUL).

Michael Mulhern, Director of Land Use, Planning and Transportation, South Dublin County Council

Mick is a qualified Town Planner and Urban Designer with nearly 20 years’ experience. He spent a considerable amount of time working in London across a range of complex planning, regeneration, and development projects, including spending 12 years working for the Mayor of London in various roles including; interim Chief Executive of the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation; a senior officer helping coordinate the Mayor’s response to the London Riots and associated programme of ‘Placemaking’ improvements in some of London’s most deprived locations of Croydon and Tottenham; as well as working as a planning and design officer on the preparation of plans for large development projects including the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
