Due to popularity of this event which was held in June 2022, West of England Young Planners are delighted to offer this event again.
The one-hour tour will provide an insight into the construction of the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge bridge spanning the Avon Gorge through a visit into the bridge’s vaults (which were rediscovered in 2002). The tour itself will take place within the abutment on the Leigh Woods-side of the bridge and will be led by the Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust.
The tour involves descending down into the vaults via a vertical ladder so sturdy shoes and practical clothing are required! Hard hats and hi-vis jackets will be provided by the Bridge. Please refer to the Access Guide for further details on access restrictions and safety measures during the tour.
