An East Midlands Young Planners CPD event organised by Jessica Herritty, Associate Director at Turley and the RTPI East Midland's Young Planner of the Year 2021. 

This session will offer an insight into the experiences and career path of a Chief Planning Officer, what motivates them, their greatest achievements and what advice they would give to their younger selves.

Joining the East Midlands Young Planners is Paul Seddon, Director of Planning and Regeneration at Nottingham City Council.

Paul is a chartered Town Planner with over 25 years’ experience in local government, across a number of Councils in the North West and East Midlands. He is a past president of the Planning Officers Society (POS) and holds a number of roles with POS.  Paul is also the Chair of Core Cities Chief Planners Group.

Paul has worked at Nottingham City Council for 9 years and leads a team of 40 planning professionals.

Current projects including leading on once in a generation scale of development across Nottingham including one of the country’s most important regeneration opportunities at Broad Marsh, a new Urban Village at Nottingham Island Quarter, major residential development at Waterside along the River Trent and the transformation of the south side of the City Centre around Nottingham Railway Station.
