The Royal Town Planning Institute’s Urban Design Network is engaged in championing the value of good urban design - to clients, developers, local authorities and other community decision makers - and to maintain the ground secured in recent years in terms of the policy basis for high quality design and the whole philosophy of design review and place-making.

The Urban Design Network Conference will explore the theme of “design inequality”, It is an online event and will take place on 7 November, 2022. It will focus on the current measures being implemented to address “design inequality”. How are they being implemented on the ground? Where are the opportunities and challenges for the future?

RTPI President Timothy Crawshaw will open the conference. This will be followed by sessions on:

  • Housing Design Quality/Inequality of Design Outcomes
  • Progress of Design Code Pathfinders
  • Hacking the Nmdc Process for Sustainability and Inclusivity
  • Challenges and Opportunities of Delivering Design Quality at A Local Authority Level
