Giving an overview of affordable housing and the model of designing, securing, and delivering all-affordable housing schemes, the session will explore the delivery model of house builder businesses, such as Living Space Housing, who work with Registered Providers (RP) of social housing to deliver bespoke affordable housing schemes. It will touch on the Planning challenges that occur when securing 100% affordable schemes, including an overview of the S106 structure, before exploring what the future looks like for affordable housing.
The session will be held virtually and will be chaired by Tamsin Almeida from the West Midlands Young Planners network, a Planner at Living Space Housing, who has first-hand experience of securing all-affordable schemes for Living Space. She will be joined by Daniel Crawford, Planning Manager at Sovereign Housing Association, an RP who are one of the largest providers of new affordable housing in the country.
