RTPI North East brings this webinar to you as part of the RTPI Online event series.
Rural communities in the UK and Ireland are facing many challenges in the 2020s. The RTPI project will seek to address how rural planning will need to change to deal with these challenges, as well as how rural communities can meet policy and practice objectives for achieving sustainable development.
Emerging findings from the ongoing research due for publication in the summer will be discussed at the event. The ongoing research is being carried out by a consortium of prominent academics who will investigate the challenges facing planning within rural communities. The project will explore how rural communities in the different regions and nations UK and Ireland are adapting to these sorts of issues and highlighting examples of interesting and innovative practice. Feedback from roundtables and other forms of engagement from those working on the ground in rural areas will also feed into the report.
