The West of England Young Planners are excited to bring you their next event – the summer boat social. This year will be the 6th year the boat social has run, following our 5th year anniversary in 2019. The event provides an opportunity to network with other young planners while enjoying a tour of Bristol Harbourside.

Meet and connect with other planners within the region and share your experiences within an informal, social setting. This will be a great opportunity to meet people associated with all aspects of planning, including local authority, consultancy, academia and developers and a great chance to catch up with existing contacts on the past few years!

The 2 hour trip will consist of a tour around Bristol’s historic floating harbourside, starting at Temple Quay and ending at King Street. We will have one pub stop along the way, where we can disembark and grab a drink (don’t worry there is also a bar on-board) before our final destination and drop-off point at King Street.

We will then head to King Street Brew House for pizzas.

The boat leaves Temple Quay at 6:30pm prompt. Please arrive by 6:15pm to allow enough time to register. For safety reasons you will be required for the duration of the boat trip, which is 2 hours. The meeting point is the ferry point (by the Planning Inspectorate) at the bottom of the steps near the bridge at Temple Meads, opposite Burges Salmon offices.

Meeting Point: Temple Quay ferry stop
Times: 6:30pm – 8:30pm for the boat trip. The final drop-off point will be by King Street, Welsh Back, 8:30pm – onwards for pizzas at King Street Brew House.
Cost: £15.00 exc VAT. The trip will include pizzas at King Street Brew House after the boat tour. Drinks can be purchased on the boat.
Booking: Places are limited for 30 people on a first-come, first-served basis.
