The next in our Ask an Expert series will provide an introduction to Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) in housebuilding - ie modular homes. Emily Christie, Head of Planning for the Midlands at Ilke Homes, will introduce the concept of MMC in housing and provide an overview of key considerations for planners to consider in design, planning and delivery.
This topic is particularly relevant for Young Planners given the need for planners to work pro-actively to tackle the housing crisis using a variety of tools, familiarise themselves with the specific economics and design characteristics of modular housing and understand the potential for net-zero carbon housebuilding.
Whilst case studies may focus on the West Midlands, this online event is free and accessible for all RTPI members.
