Join the RTPI Dorset Young Planners for their upcoming virtual CPD event ‘Understanding Habitats and Environmental Impact Assessments’. We are delighted to introduce our key speakers Dr Katie Pollard MCIEEM who is Director and Principal Ecologist at KP Ecology and Erin Banks an Associate and Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist from Savills.

As planners we may be working on sites with protected and priority species and habitats which are likely to be impacted upon by proposed development, and therefore it is a vital topic for planners to understand to ensure that no harm is caused to our ecological systems. Our ecology experts will discuss the process and requirements for habitats and species surveys and also Environmental Impact Assessments, also identifying any mitigation measures that can be incorporated into development to ensure no harm is created by development.

Please note that this event has been organised by and for Young Planners so the content will be aimed at those in the first ten years of their career. All members and non members are welcome to book as this will provide a useful refresher and opportunity to be updated on the latest guidance and learning outcomes from recent projects.
