This afternoon walk will look at the new designated Conservation Area and associated Heritage Action Zone/Future High Streets Fund projects. It will look at city centre regeneration at different stages, including public realm projects,  and the challenges the city faces in regeneration. We will look at the recent delivery of a boulevard link to the waterfront (part of the Mackay Vision). The tour will also stop off at the RTPI award winning residential scheme Pilgrim Court where the case officer will outline this scheme and finally finish at The Box, Plymouths new £46million cultural destination.

Walk specifics:

  • Time: We will meet at 12.00 for pasties, start the walking tour at 12.30 and concluding approx 14.00

  • Route: Starting at North Cross roundabout the walk will go through around/through the city centre including Armada Way, West End, Western Approach, Royal Parade, Civic Centre and Guildhall, Pilgrim Court, Barcode before finishing at The Box

  • Walking difficulty - An easy 2 mile walk through city centre. There will be steps at the Barcode, an incline to The Box near the end of the walk and some cobbles streets in places. Participants should wear suitable footwear.

The walk will be limited in numbers so early booking is recommended.
