Devon, Cornwall and Somerset Young Planners are delighted to invite you to join us for a compelling CPD session, where we will learn the do’s and don’ts of public speaking / presenting! This obviously has an important place in our profession, where we can be expected to speak at committees, examinations, inquiries, liaison groups, and to clients.

This CPD will focus on suitable approaches to speaking at committees, but the lessons learnt will no doubt be applicable to a number of different scenarios.

We will kick the night off with a presentation by Will Grover, an expert in public speaking from Simply Amazing Training. This will be followed by two of our own Steering Group Members, who will give their presentation on a fabricated application. The floor will then be opened to delegates for feedback on the presentations based on the tips newly learned, following which a period of Q&A for our expert will be given.

Following this, we will hear from Councillor Patrick Nicholson (Deputy Leader, Plymouth City Council) and Ros Eastman (Manager of Strategic Place, Teignbridge District Council), who sit on planning committees and have a wealth of experience between them. They will give their advice on speaking at committee followed by a Q & A session, where delegates will have the opportunity to ask any questions about Planning Committee.

If this sounds like something you may find useful and will enhance your personal development, then please book. Spaces are limited.

Thank you to our sponsors LRM Planning Ltd, who have enabled this event to happen.
