The National Policy Framework (NPPF) guidelines state that 'to prevent unacceptable risks from pollution and land instability, planning policies and decisions should ensure that new development is appropriate for its location'.

The framework goes on to state 'where a site is affected by contamination or land stability issues, responsibility for securing a safe development rests with the developer and/or landowner'.

In this joint webinar with RTPI Yorkshire and environmental consultancy Delta-Simons we will present NPPF requirements, discuss planning conditions in respect to contamination, ground instability risks with case studies, and best practice approaches to identifying and mitigating risks.
