This webinar is brought to you by RTPI South West as part of the RTPI Online event Series

Modular homes were very popular back in the 1950s and 60s and are now making their comeback as methods of construction have improved.  In essence a modular home is designed at the planning phase and consist of multiple sections, or modules, that can be manufactured elsewhere and then delivered and assembled on the site of the build. Assembly of the many sections involves slotting them into place and joining together to make a complete building (Source: Planning Portal).

Benefits of this form of building include speed of build (30% quicker), less complaints form noise, more environmentally friendly, generally unaffected by weather in building delays, less risk of construction related accidents and cost saving. However they also have their limitations with design, layout and materials used (Source: pbctoday)

This webinar invites 3 speakers to give their experiences of modern methods of construction with a focus on modular homes.
