The RTPI has responded to the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy's review of the government’s approach to delivering its net zero target. We support and welcome the chance to provide input on such a critical area of policy. Climate change and net zero are the defining challenges of our time and the UK needs to rapidly reduce greenhouse gas emissions across a number of sectors. Such a significant challenge requires a truly holistic approach that considers every possibility and opportunity to deliver a greener future.
We consulted our networks and members to provide a holistic and representative response to the consultation. Our key findings can be found below, both in our overarching comments and then in our response to some of the specific questions in the consultation.
