Response to Scottish Government's consultation on the National Islands Plan and Island Communities Impact Assessments

RTPI Scotland has responded to a consultation on the National Islands Plan and Island Communities Impact Assessments. The response referenced the plan for Stromess which was awarded the Silver Jubilee Cup at the RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence 2018. Over the past 10 years, the plan has resulted in 12 major projects implemented across the town, including new and upgraded public spaces, new shops and
businesses and a new primary school. The repsonse recommended that National Island Plans should address a range of factors from affordable housing through to climate change.
