Lorraine Mullings is the Governance Manager at the RTPI
The summer is a busy time for the Governance team, especially since we are now at the start of the 2025 Elections.
As well as the elections for Vice President, we are accepting nominations for the Chair of the Board of Trustees and two Chartered Members on the Board of Trustees. There are also 21vacancies on the General Assembly.

We encourage you to contact your networks and peers and get involved at the start of a very exciting time for the RTPI.
We are making the final preparations for the June Board of Trustees meeting and preparations are also underway for the summer General Assembly meeting. This will be held at Asia House in London. Attendees can look forward to a demonstration on how virtual reality could be used as a community engagement tool and a discussion about the potential impact of the introduction of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.
The GA members will also be provided with updates of some of the activities around the nations and regions and the findings of a survey on community engagement in planning.
The Board of Trustees will also have its away day in mid-July. The Trustees will have the chance to explore some of the wider issues that are affecting the profession.
