Regions and Nations
Positions on our Regional Management Boards, Regional Activities Committees and National Executive Committees for Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Various roles are available, to suit all membership classes.
Standing Committees
Positions on the Board's Standing Committees are through a separate application process in October.
All roles are voluntary and unremunerated.

No supporters required. Appointments to these roles are made by the Board of Trustees rather than through an election process. |
All positions start from 1 January each year.
The time commitment for each role varies. For Board of Trustees, General Assembly, committees in the Nations and Regions and standing committee roles you will be expected to read papers, attend the meetings and participate in the discussions.
Trustees will be expected to chair a committee and attend selected Standing Committees and/or Board Sub-Committees.
The individual role descriptions will provide further information about the number of meetings and expectations for each position.
It is useful to let your employer know you are considering applying for a volunteer role at the RTPI. Many employers are extremely supportive and encourage staff to take up governance roles because they bring so many opportunities for personal and professional development.

Yes. Retired members retain their status as Chartered members or Non-Chartered members held immediately before transferring to Retired Member status and are eligible to apply for the positions accordingly.
RTPI appreciates the time and talent spent on its activities by volunteers, members of the Institute, staff, trustees, committee members, General Assembly members. In supporting the activities, the Institute is pleased to reimburse reasonable expenses in line with the Expenses Policy.
