The RTPI's standing committees and sub-committees report to the Board of Trustees. They play a vital role in supporting the Board's decision-making processes or in leading on pillars of the RTPI’s work to help deliver the vision and mission set out in our Corporate Strategy - from developing domestic or international policy, through to planning our financial strategy or influencing our work around planning education and CPD.
The Board operates five sub-committees which support the RTPI Board by providing additional scrutiny, discussion and assurance around key decisions.
Each sub committee is chaired by a trustee. Other members of the sub-committee include further trustees or co-opted members who have been appointed by the Board to provide specific expertise or knowledge to that committee.
The Board has established five Standing Committees which lead on various strands of work within the RTPI’s corporate strategy.
Either the Chair or Vice Chair of the Standing Committee will be a Trustee. Other members are appointed by the Board in consultation with the committee’s Chair. The composition of the Committees is intended to reflect the diversity of the RTPI’s members and includes at least five members of the General Assembly.
Our members are involved at all levels of the Institute's governance from the General Assembly and Board, the Standing and subcommittees through to the Executive Committees in the nations and the Regional Management Boards in the English Regions.
