The RTPI East of England Planning Law conference brings together leading experts to provide a clear and practical overview of key developments in planning law. The programme will cover recent changes in national policy, appeals, and emerging legal challenges, supporting you to stay informed and confident in practice. 

What to expect:

The conference offers a structured and informative programme led by experienced planning and legal professionals. It provides a clear and practical overview of recent developments in planning law, including changes in national policy, appeals, case law and emerging legal challenges. 

Through case studies, the sessions will support you in understanding how these changes apply in practice and what they mean for your day-to-day work. Attending the conference will help you strengthen your knowledge, build confidence in interpreting and applying legal developments, and stay up to date in a fast-evolving policy environment, while also offering valuable opportunities to connect with peers across the region.

This event is eligible for up to 5 hours of CPD and covers the following subjects from the core CPD framework:

Getting to the venue

By train: Cambridge Station is about a 25‑minute walk away, and Cambridge North Station is around 50 minutes on foot.

By bus: The venue is close to several central Cambridge bus routes, including services that stop along Trumpington Street and Silver Street, both just a short walk away.

By car: You will find several car parks nearby, including on‑site paid parking at the hotel and additional public car parks within walking distance.

By taxi: Taxis can drop you off within roughly 50 metres of the venue, as vehicles can access Mill Lane and the hotel entrance directly.

Before you set off, it's worth checking for any updates – e.g. ongoing roadworks in the area that might affect your journey.
