These roles are open for application in September each year through our Nations and elections.

Outline of role

The Northern Ireland Executive Committee's remit includes supporting members in their professional activities, and building and strengthening the Institute's relations with key stakeholders in Northern Ireland. It also aims at promoting planning, either as a career or through various events for our members in Northern Ireland.

Minimum time commitment

  • 4 meetings a year in March, June, September and December, hybrid online and at venues in Belfast. Meetings are expected to last around 2 hours and tend to be scheduled from 17:30 to 19:00
  • For General Assembly representatives only: 4 full day meetings a year (in London or major cities around the UK)
  • Reading papers in preparation for meetings
  • One hour online induction session at the start of your term.

Length of term

2 years apart from Chair, Senior and Junior Vice Chair (1 year for each)

How to get involved

Elections for roles are held annually. Positions with a two-year term are elected every other year.

Opening and closing date

Nominations open early September and close at the end of September. Elections (if applicable) run through October.

Start date

Term starts in January
