The project was a collaboration between many stakeholders with community support, and has resulted in an exemplary school which has set a very high benchmark. Having proved the need for better facilities, the school worked with the Council Planning Team and others to ensure issues such as access and transport, sustainable drainage and rainwater harvesting, biodiversity and ecological mitigation measures were all designed in to the final scheme. Local communities have access to the sports, gym/fitness, music and technology facilities as well as the chapel and current demand by local clubs and groups is high. An excellent example of a school development which has successfully dealt with a range of current planning challenges.
