The Royal Town Planning Institute is a leading global planning professional body. Our global action cuts across all our activities including membership engagement, planning knowledge and practice, education, advocacy, equity and diversity.

About 7% of our 27,000 RTPI members live and work outside of the UK and Ireland in around 80 countries.

We currently accredit planning courses in four universities in Botswana, South Africa and Hong Kong.

We promote planning knowledge and practice globally and our research strategy reflect this outlook.  Our Planning is Global series promote the value of planning internationally.

We provide training and CPD opportunities for our global membership.

The RTPI International Committee oversees our international work based on the RTPI International Strategy, which commits us to play our part in achieving a more sustainable world through spatial planning and promote the RTPI as a world leading advocate of the value of planning and planners for global sustainability.
