This unique CPD and social evening at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest, combining high-ropes adventure with an insightful exploration of how outdoor recreation, tourism, and environmental stewardship can successfully coexist within a protected landscape.
Background:
This CPD and social evening combines high‑ropes adventure with an immersive look at how woodland environments, outdoor leisure spaces, and eco‑tourism are planned, managed, and delivered.
What to expect:
Through a mix of practical experiences and guided discussion, attendees will gain an understanding of how Moors Valley and Go Ape have incorporated tourism and leisure activities within a Green Belt and protected forest setting, balancing visitor experience with environmental and planning considerations.
The session will also provide insight into the planning principles and approvals that supported the development of Go Ape, an introduction to the importance and management of veteran trees, and an overview of the minerals planning process and regulatory framework that has shaped the landscape and ongoing management of Moors Valley.
This event offers an excellent opportunity to network with fellow professionals while learning from a real-world example of sustainable tourism and outdoor recreation.

By train: The nearest train station is Bournemouth, a 20-minute drive away
By bus: The closest bus stops are Ebblake Bridge, a 29 minute walk away or Lions Lane, a 35-minute walk away.
By car: Parking is available on site but is at significant cost so car-sharing is strongly encouraged:
1 to 2 hours - £7.20
2 to 4 hours - £10.20
4 to 5 hours – £12.50
5 hours + - £14.50.
Before you set off, it's worth checking for any updates – e.g. ongoing roadworks in the area that might affect your journey.
