About the campaign

To celebrate 75 years of World Town Planning Day, Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art came to life with a special one-night-only projection on Friday 7 November. “It takes planners & you” forms part of a national campaign celebrating the power of planning and the people who help shape our towns and cities. 

The projection took viewers on a short visual journey - from Baltic’s industrial past to its transformation into a thriving centre for art and culture - showing how planners and communities working together can turn local ideas into lasting change. Through powerful imagery and real examples of regeneration, it highlighted how smart planning helps create sustainable, healthy, and more vibrant places for everyone.
