Here are some ideas and examples of what you can post on your personal social media to spread the campaign message and get people talking about planning.

1. A reflection post – share your thoughts on the campaign or what planning means to you.
2. A local story post – showcase a project or transformation from your area that reflects the campaign’s message.

What difference did it make to your community? Was it nominated for any awards?

What role did you/planners play? Can you tag or mention key stakeholders involved?

Do you have any images showing before and after the project which can highlight the change?

The @RoyalTownPlanningInstitute It Takes Planners & You campaign reminds us that better places happen when planners and communities work together.

The projection event at the Baltic Centre in Gateshead marked the launch of the campaign, sharing real stories of places that have changed through planning.

You can add a simple question or poll on Instagram Stories to encourage conversation.

Options: Homes / High streets / Parks and public spaces.

Use your own photos from projects you have been involved in (but please make sure you have permission to use the images)

Please post on your social media profiles between 8 November and 31 December to keep the conversation going in the coming weeks. Either share straightaway or schedule your post to go out.

LinkedIn:

1. Open LinkedIn and tap Start a post.
2. Paste the caption.
3. Add the image or video
4. Tag @Royal Town Planning Institute LinkedIn page.
5. Add alt text to the images [for accessibility purposes]
